A new study out of China has tied T cell activation to Roche’s IL-6 inhibitor Actemra, which has shown some early effect in treating cytokine storm in severe COVID-19 patients.
Meanwhile, the National Institutes of Health has kicked off a “Shark Tank”-style effort to fund new diagnostic tests for the novel coronavirus.
As of Friday, the number of global confirmed cases had passed 3.27 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, and more than 233,000 people had died.
